Stumptown Mini Report

pseudo-"jonah" and anti-"francois" at the NOT Family Style table

Stumptown was OK this year. At the last minute Francois of Family Style decided not to go, so he graciously donated his tablespace and badges to us. For whatever reason I felt weird and gloomy most of the con and I did pretty poorly in sales. But in retrospect, I wasn't trying too hard I guess and my original intent was really just to hang out-- so nothing lost, right?

It definitely was fun hanging out with comics people. The only industry party I went to was at Guapo Friday for the Maisie Kukoc award (which Andy Hartzell deservedly won). Saturday was hardcore trivia night at Gariet's, where our team amazingly dominated. My propensity for storing all sorts of worthless knowledge has been never greater justified. Later, I drew this fucking awesome picture of Cable on Geoff's hotel door. Here Sarah is drawing testes on his impressive gun while Zack looks on.

Favorite thing I picked up at the con: Theo Ellsworth's Capacity #7. Seriously, this guy is incredible.

I'll have to check out Andy Hartzell's stuff, if nothing else to see if it's truly better than P.S. Comics (which got my vote).

I got some of Theo's zines at the symposium. He's awesome!

Hey! Don't worry about it, I pull that crap all the time on people. The only thing was I would have felt incredibly guilty taking a book for free from you guys!

Anyway, you have wicked drawing style going on, added ya.
